Billing and documents

Billing and documents in Beyond.

Beyond turns recorded work into calculations and documents. Your client’s money goes directly to your own account: Beyond does not receive, hold or transfer it. Recording a payment is your record of money received, not a bank confirmation.

What goes into an invoice

Hourly projects supply time lines with rates. Fixed-price projects supply explicitly selected milestones. Charges add agreed amounts without hours. A partially paid invoice can produce a separate carry-over charge. Every currency keeps its own total.

  1. Set up the client, project and billing terms.
  2. Record actual time or prepare fixed-project milestones.
  3. Review a report and create a draft.
  4. Check the document, issue it and deliver the PDF to your client yourself.
  5. Once money arrives, record the payment.

Read the right measure

Worked earnings, billed amounts, collected payments and outstanding balances answer different questions. Charges increase invoice and unbilled amounts but do not increase hourly earnings. Fixed-project hours count toward duration without producing hourly revenue. Planned time does not become actual work or an invoice line.

Different currencies are not silently added together. An optional base currency adds approximate values marked ≈ while preserving the original amounts.

Workspace invoices and charges are available to Owners and Admins. A Member’s money permission concerns their own time and does not unlock team billing. Paid features and numerical limits are explained under plans; role permissions apply independently. Use smart checks to draw attention to overdue invoices and older unbilled work.
