Create an invoice
Create an invoice in Beyond.
A draft lets you check invoice contents before assigning a number or locking work. Owners and Admins can create invoices on Starter, Pro and Business. Starter allows 20 issued invoices per month; Pro and Business have no monthly issue limit.
Prepare the draft
- Open Invoices → New invoice. You can also start from a client, a report or an unbilled Insights action.
- Select the client and inclusive service dates. Both boundary dates belong to the period.
- Review hourly lines and totals by currency. Previously invoiced time is not billed again.
- Explicitly select fixed-project milestones when needed. Their scheduled dates do not restrict explicit selection.
- Add notes, choose whether to include the time appendix and create the draft.
There must be something eligible to bill: time, a charge or a selected milestone. Fixed-project hours do not automatically become chargeable hourly lines.
Check the contents
The draft includes the client’s unbilled charges dated on or before the period end. A charge older than the period start may therefore be included. Exclude individual charges in the draft when appropriate. Each currency retains a separate total.
A draft does not reserve time or milestones. If another invoice uses a selected milestone first, the draft reports an incomplete selection. Remove or reselect unavailable fees before issuing; an incomplete draft cannot be sent.
Creating from Reports requires one selected client, an explicit date range and billable entries. The action seeds client and dates, so review the resulting invoice rather than assuming every project, tag or author filter becomes a billing restriction. Next, check its PDF and issue the invoice.
