Projects

A project connects a client, time records and billing terms.

A project connects a client, time records and billing terms. Choose the billing type deliberately: hourly and fixed-price work have different economics.

Set up a project

Create it from the project list or a client’s context. Enter a name, description, color, status and dates where useful. Notes hold internal context. Check the client, currency and billing type before saving.

An hourly project can inherit the client rate or use its own rate. Entries retain pricing data for their calculations; changing terms requires a deliberate rate-update workflow. A fixed-price project tracks labor through hours, while milestone invoices determine revenue. Its recorded hours are not multiplied by a stored hourly rate to produce fixed-project earnings.

Budgets and ongoing work

The detail page combines permitted hours, financial figures and related actions. A time or money budget concerns the project as a whole and differs from a monthly limit. Use Profitability for labor cost and margin. Unknown labor cost does not mean zero cost.

Pro and above

A monthly limit belongs to a specific month and only warns. Owners and Admins can see it; Members cannot.

Finish and access

For completed work, update the project status. The separate Archive action preserves history but hides the project from ordinary lists. The current list has no archived-items or restore toggle. Archiving is not a substitute for correcting issued documents. Use entry tags to classify completed work.

Free allows one project, Starter 25, and Pro and Business have no numeric project cap. Ordinary projects are not globally a paid feature. Quantity limits and role permissions apply separately. A Member’s available projects and monetary fields depend on assignment and permissions.
