Clients
A client groups projects and customer-related documents.
A client groups projects and customer-related documents. Create the client before the first project so that work and money belong to the right context.
Create and use a client
Open Clients, add a client and complete the available details. Check currency and rate terms if you use hourly work. Save, then create a project for that client. The detail page leads to projects and permitted financial sections, including charges, invoices and time publication.
A client rate can be inherited by projects; an explicit project rate defines different terms. Changing current pricing does not automatically rewrite historical entries. Review the rate-change workflow before saving; see Rates.
Find and archive
Open the client and choose Edit. Status can be Active or Inactive; an inactive client remains in the list. The separate Archive action in the danger zone hides the client from ordinary lists while retaining data. The current client list has no search, filters or archived-items/restore toggle. To keep a former client readily accessible, use Inactive status. Archiving does not pay or void associated invoices.
Financial totals depend on billing type. Fixed-price project hours do not produce hourly earnings, and different currencies remain separate. See Reports and Currencies for calculation details.
Plans and permissions
Creating clients is not globally a paid feature. Free allows one client, Starter ten, and Pro and Business have no numeric client cap. This is a quantity limit, distinct from invoice access. Do not assume archiving releases capacity without checking the limit shown in the application.
Management actions follow your role. Money visibility does not automatically give a Member team billing access. Publishing time for a client has its own eligibility; see Publication.
