Search and command palette

Search and command palette in Beyond.

Press ⌘K on Mac or Ctrl+K elsewhere to open the command palette. It combines page navigation, actions and search across accessible records. Use it without first returning to the sidebar.

Find or create

Start typing a page, client or project name, or an accessible time-entry description. Select a result to open it. Search respects permissions: Members do not see colleagues’ time descriptions or invoices unavailable to their role. Recent items help return to records you opened recently; Clear recent items clears that list rather than business records or Activity history.

The palette offers time, client, project, invoice, charge and custom-report creation according to access. Actions adapt to context: a project page can start time for that project, while a client page can start an invoice for that client. On the time-entry page, the creation action shows the N shortcut. Review the form before saving; launching an action does not automatically write a record.

Utility actions

Use the palette to change theme, start bundle import or backup export, or reopen the getting-started checklist. A plan-gated feature can show a lock and explain the required upgrade; this does not grant permissions or execute the operation. Workspace managers get import/export actions, and financial actions still follow role permissions.

Return to the first steps

The Dashboard checklist offers to create a client, then a project and your first time entry. Progress comes from real records. If the checklist was dismissed, an owner or administrator can use Show getting started to bring it back. This does not reset your clients or entries.

Continue with clients, projects or time entries.
