Entry tags

Tags classify work independently of clients and projects: for example, design, meetings or revisions.

Tags classify work independently of clients and projects: for example, design, meetings or revisions. Choose short, stable names so that filters remain understandable across the team.

Create and apply

Open Tags, create a tag and choose its color. Select appropriate tags in the time-entry form when creating or editing work. An entry can have several tags: these classify the same work rather than duplicating its duration.

The time list shows the first two tags in a row. The additional-count button opens the rest. On desktop, edit the tag cell directly without opening the full entry form. Use the full editor when you also need to check description, project and duration.

Use tags carefully

Use tags to find work through available filters and reports. Before comparing totals, check the period and other filters: the same tag may occur across projects. Color is a visual aid, not an access permission or payment indicator.

A timesheet day can aggregate several source entries with different tags. Reducing its total can delete a source record. If that would remove tags or a description, a confirmation warns about losing the metadata. See Timesheet.

Tags apply to actual time records. To classify individual work within a project, add the tag to its time entry.

Tags do not require a separate paid feature. Managing shared records and changing an entry still depends on role, authorship and invoice locks. Money visibility does not expand these permissions; see Roles.
